Trainer & Assessor - Mining

About the role

A recruitment agency is recruiting on behalf of its client for an experienced Trainer & Assessor to join a well-established production mining operation in Perth. The role suits someone who has moved from operator work into training and assessment and wants to build operator capability across a large-scale mine. It is a casual position.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and practical field-based training
• Support new starter onboarding and inductions
• Conduct competency assessments and coach operators
• Deliver advanced proficiency training to experienced operators
• Mentor and develop operators to improve capability and performance
• Maintain training records and meet compliance requirements
• Liaise with operational leaders and site stakeholders

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
• HR drivers licence
• Extensive production mining operating experience
• Demonstrated trainer and assessor experience in mining
• Proven experience delivering proficiency training

Required skills

• Experience operating and training on Hitachi excavators, dozers and graders
• Pronto experience highly desirable
• Strong coaching, mentoring and communication skills
