Trainer & Assessor – Mining

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Operator to transition into a Trainer & Assessor position within the Mining Department at Murrin Murrin Operations. The role involves developing and delivering training, assessing competency, and supporting the continuous improvement of our mining workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Design, update and deliver training programmes for mining operators.
• Conduct individual competency assessments against the established framework.
• Perform pre‑start equipment inspections and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Coordinate document management and maintain accurate training records in the online learning portal.
• Observe and coach crew trainers to ensure correct training delivery and proper completion of training books.
• Provide ongoing mentorship and developmental support to operators.

Required profile

• High level of health, safety and environmental awareness.
• Minimum 5 years experience operating mobile plant on a large‑scale mining operation.
• Willingness to perform administrative tasks related to training records.
• Previous experience reviewing, developing and writing training packages.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Operation of CAT 785/745 dump trucks, CAT 16M/18M motor graders, CAT D10/D6 track dozers, CAT 854K wheel dozer, CAT 992/988/980 front‑end loaders.
• Operation of Hitachi 1900/1200/1100/890 hydraulic excavators.
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using Oracle for training record management.
