Trainee Health and Building Surveyor

About the role

Parkes Shire Council is offering a four-year Trainee Health and Building Surveyor traineeship in its Planning and Environmental Department. You will gain practical experience in building certification, health and building compliance and regulatory services, working alongside experienced professionals. The program includes on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring, and ends with a nationally recognised vocational qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with building inspections
• Help with development assessments and compliance activities
• Respond to enquiries from applicants and the community

Required profile

• Motivated and willing to learn; reliable, trustworthy and punctual
• Team player with good communication, organisational and time management skills
• Problem solver who uses self-initiative
• Genuine interest in the role
• NSW Provisional or full driver's licence
• SafeWork NSW construction induction (White Card)
• Eligibility to start (or already started) study for a relevant qualification in building certification
