Trainee Field & Technical Sales - AgTech

About the role

This is a permanent, full-time trainee position in AgTech based in Macquarie Valley, NSW, with an immediate start. It suits someone starting their career in the sector: you begin in the field installing and maintaining INCYT equipment, support the Sales team and gain hands-on experience with customers and technology. No industry experience is required, as full training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Install INCYT devices on farms (water level and tank monitoring, soil probes, trackers, weather and spray towers, engine monitoring) and carry out routine servicing, sensor and network device changes, basic fault finding and repairs
• Complete site checks before installation and test afterwards, keeping accurate job records, photos and asset details in company systems
• Manage stock, tools and vehicle equipment for your region
• Assist the Sales team with documents, quotes, reports and presentations, and help organise equipment and basic setup for customer onboarding
• Join farm visits with senior staff and, over time, take on customer relationships and sales opportunities in your area
• Help customers with basic questions and troubleshooting, and enter data and follow-ups in CRM systems
• Coordinate field days, events and partner activities, prepare training material and gather customer and partner feedback
• Work with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Product teams and help with scheduling, documentation and meeting notes

Required profile

• Current driver's licence and confidence driving long distances on rural and unsealed roads
• Physical ability to work outdoors in all conditions and to lift and position equipment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, organised and reliable
• Willingness to travel regularly to farms and events
• Right to work in Australia

Required skills

• Comfort using basic hand and power tools
• Advantageous but not required: farming, agronomy, irrigation, trades, machinery or auto electrical background, basic 12V, electrical, plumbing or mechanical experience, familiarity with cotton or broadacre farming, or current study in Agriculture, Agribusiness, AgTech, Marketing or Environmental Science
