Trading Account Manager (Scrap Metal), Mackay

About the role

InfraBuild Recycling, a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Gold Winner and World Steel Association Sustainability Champion, is looking for a Trading Executive for its Mackay site. Reporting to the State Trading Manager, the role covers procurement of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal and coordination of delivery to nominated InfraBuild Recycling facilities. It is a permanent full-time position with a 12k per annum remote location allowance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of existing accounts and develop new business
• Build rapport with customers and tailor products and services to their needs
• Prioritise work demands to manage customer retention and satisfaction
• Negotiate quotes taking account of bespoke customer requirements
• Ensure compliance with ACCC and Trade Practices in all customer and contractor interactions
• Support the Goal Zero strategy by working safely and avoiding hazards
• Contribute to general continuous improvement initiatives

Required profile

• Strong experience in sales or account management (desirable)
• Experience in scrap metal recycling and other waste and recycling industries (desirable)
• Ability to influence outcomes with stakeholders and adhere to company policies and safe work practices
• Resilience, solutions-focused mindset, time management and project planning skills
• Ability to spot growth and improvement opportunities in a complex business
