Trades Assistant - Rail Rolling Stock

About the role

Gemco Rail, a subsidiary of Engenco Limited, is looking for a Trades Assistant for its Karratha site. Gemco Rail is an independent provider of rollingstock maintenance, products and services to the Australian and New Zealand rail markets, specialising in the manufacture, maintenance and overhaul of wagons, locomotives, passenger cars, rollingstock components and track maintenance equipment. The assistant supports trade staff in the maintenance, manufacture and refurbishment of rail rolling stock, following established procedures and Rail Safety and OH&S regulations, and reports to the Karratha Site Supervisor.

Required profile

• Based in Karratha
• Ability to meet Rail Safety Worker Category 3 fitness standards
• Proven experience working with rolling stock and railway equipment
• Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and commitment to safe work practices
• High-Risk Work Licence
• Completion of all required paperwork accurately and on time
• Eligibility to work in Australia, with a valid police clearance and a medical assessment with drug and alcohol testing
