Trade Counter Assistant / Delivery Driver (Irrigation) - Newcastle

About the role

As part of the Trade Counter team in Newcastle, you will help landscapers, irrigation specialists and other tradespeople access the products they need for outdoor spaces, while also keeping the branch running smoothly. Working closely with experienced Branch Leaders, you will gain hands-on exposure to all aspects of the business and develop the skills, knowledge and confidence for greater responsibility, including a pathway into future leadership roles such as retail manager.

Key responsibilities

• Make deliveries to customers using a company vehicle
• Pick and pack orders and carry out stock control
• Provide customer service and product information
• Provide quotes in person and over the phone
• Maintain a safe, organised and welcoming branch environment
• Continue upskilling through on-the-job training and learn the operational and commercial skills behind future leadership roles

Required profile

• Career potential and a growth mindset; previous customer service experience is valued
• Ability to pick orders accurately, maintain shop floor displays and give accurate information
• Tech-savvy and adaptable to learning new systems
• Clean, valid driver's licence; a valid forklift licence is ideal but not essential
• Wants to develop their career locally, within the wider network or at head office
