Test Manager – Verification & Validation

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking a senior Test Manager to lead verification, validation and testing for a complex Defence capability. You will act as the technical authority, ensuring system requirements are supported by objective evidence and that risks are understood.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and govern the Verification, Validation and Test (V&V) strategy, creating a traceable, auditable framework.
• Provide technical leadership across system, subsystem, software, hardware, interface, integration and operational testing.
• Define entry and exit criteria, lead readiness reviews, assess defects and technical risks, and advise on release readiness.
• Coordinate testing activities with customers, delivery teams, engineering disciplines, subcontractors and suppliers.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading V&V activities on large‑scale, technically complex programs.
• Strong understanding of the full testing lifecycle and ability to manage traceability between requirements, test cases and results.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and mentor technical personnel.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or equivalent experience.

• ISTQB certification (or similar)
• Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices
• Test automation implementation
