Test Automation Lead

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Test Automation Lead to define and refine an enterprise‑wide automation strategy, translating it into a prioritized implementation roadmap. The role focuses on reducing manual regression effort, increasing risk‑based automated coverage, and establishing reliable automation across business‑as‑usual, projects and vendor ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Define, refine and implement the enterprise automation strategy, operating model, standards and governance.
• Maintain a prioritized roadmap and backlog based on business risk, application criticality and delivery demand.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, establishing reliable regression release gates.
• Design, maintain and scale automation frameworks and reusable assets (e.g., Tosca, Playwright).
• Tri­age regression test estate to automate, retain‑manual or retire, reducing flaky tests.
• Develop UI, API, back‑end, integration and end‑to‑end tests for complex enterprise workflows.
• Coordinate environment readiness, test data management and service virtualization.
• Lead and mentor automation engineers, conduct code reviews and promote shift‑left testing.
• Analyse defects, close coverage gaps and assure quality of vendor‑delivered automation.
• Report coverage, pass rates, execution times, flakiness and manual effort displaced to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of test automation experience, including at least 3 years in senior or lead roles.
• Proven experience defining enterprise automation strategy and implementing roadmaps, operating models, standards and governance.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, C# or Python.
• Demonstrated ability to design, build and maintain scalable automation frameworks and reusable components.
• Hands‑on experience with API, integration and end‑to‑end automation across multi‑vendor enterprise systems.
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities with strong stakeholder communication.
