Terminal Controller – Rail Operations

About the role

The Terminal Controller plays a critical role in coordinating live rail operations within a fast‑paced, safety‑critical 24/7 environment. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will ensure safe and efficient movement of trains at the Acacia Ridge terminal.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all rail movements within the terminal, maintaining safety at all times.
• Monitor train movements using panel systems and train graphs.
• Communicate with train crews, external controllers, and operational stakeholders to direct movements.
• Implement daily train plans and adapt to changing operational requirements.
• Manage contractor and visitor activity within the terminal.
• Confirm routing and track availability to ensure safe arrivals and departures.
• Respond to incidents and support emergency management processes.
• Maintain accurate operational records and data in relevant systems.

Required profile

• Experience in a safety‑critical, logistics, rail or operational control environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Analytical thinking and strong problem‑solving capability.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Intermediate computer skills, including Excel and operational systems.
