Technical Trainer - Komatsu Equipment

About the role

Komatsu Australia is hiring a Technical Trainer focused on delivering technical training across Western Australia. The role suits an experienced Mechanical Technician, Mobile Plant Technician or Electrician who enjoys sharing technical knowledge, and is also open to candidates from a training or RTO background with the technical capability to deliver mechanical training on Komatsu equipment. Training is delivered to technicians, apprentices and customers, with a focus on the mechanical operation, systems and servicing of Komatsu machines. The position is based in the Welshpool office, with regular travel across WA; candidates based in Brisbane are also considered.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical technical training across Komatsu equipment and systems
• Develop and maintain technical training materials and programs
• Train Komatsu apprentices, technicians and customers
• Assess training outcomes and identify opportunities to improve capability
• Work with technical specialists and internal teams to keep training current
• Travel across WA to branches and customer sites to deliver training

Required profile

• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical, Mobile Plant Technology, Electrotechnology) or a relevant trade qualification
• Minimum 5 years' experience in the mining or construction industry
• Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment and mobile plant; haul truck experience is advantageous
• Experience delivering training, coaching or developing technicians, or experience in an RTO/training environment
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is advantageous

• Ability to build relationships with technicians, apprentices and customers
