Technical Officer - Mechanical

About the role

APA is looking for a Technical Officer - Mechanical to join its Operations & Maintenance team in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, on a full-time permanent basis as a residential employee on a 5/2 roster. Reporting to the Team Leader Asset Operations Kalgoorlie, the role plays a key part in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, keeping them safe and reliable, diagnosing and resolving technical issues and complying with industry regulations and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical systems to ensure safety and reliability
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to these systems
• Comply with industry regulations and standards for safe and efficient operations
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to improve the performance of mechanical systems
• Provide technical support and training to other staff as needed
• Work in a team environment and independently as required

Required profile

• Strong technical skills with a good understanding of mechanical systems and infrastructure
• Excellent problem-solving skills, able to diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Good communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards for mechanical systems, pipelines and flange management
• Eligibility to work in Australia; candidates are subject to background vetting (including police checks)
