Technical Director – Water Engineering

About the role

Aurecon is seeking an experienced water professional to join its Perth office as Technical Director – Water. In this senior position you will lead multidisciplinary teams delivering large‑scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Western Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning, design and implementation of complex water and wastewater solutions, overseeing projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
• Manage the full project lifecycle—from planning and design through construction, commissioning and final design approval.
• Deliver a portfolio that includes pipelines, pump stations, and treatment plant upgrades across all asset classes.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing innovative, cost‑effective and sustainable solutions.
• Inspire, develop and lead diverse high‑performing teams, fostering an inclusive culture.

Required profile

• Strong engineering background with extensive experience in water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Proven leadership experience in delivering large capital projects.
• Client‑focused mindset with the ability to translate client challenges into actionable project strategies.
