Technical Director, Process Engineering - Wastewater

About the role

Join AECOM's Water Infrastructure team as a Technical Director, Process Engineering – Wastewater, leading complex water and wastewater treatment projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will drive innovative, sustainable solutions while supporting the growth of a high‑performing team in Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multi‑disciplinary water and wastewater treatment projects across ANZ.
• Develop and implement advanced process engineering solutions focused on sustainability.
• Provide technical leadership, solve complex challenges, and guide best‑practice design approaches.
• Build strong client relationships and deliver tailored, high‑value solutions.
• Contribute to business growth through proposals, winning work, and expanding the project portfolio.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (essential); CPEng and/or RPEQ/RPEV highly regarded.
• 12+ years of senior/technical leadership experience in wastewater treatment.
• Deep knowledge of treatment processes, plant design, and ANZ regulations.
• Experience across the full asset lifecycle and strong industry connections.
• Excellent communication and client‑focused approach.
