Technical Account Manager – Data Centres

About the role

The Technical Account Manager – Data Centres will be the primary technical interface between Johnson Controls and key data centre customers across the Pacific region, focusing on chilled water plants, precision cooling and advanced thermal management solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor for data centre cooling and thermal plant solutions, providing guidance on chillers, CRAH/CRAC and liquid cooling.
• Lead design of chilled water systems and central plant architecture, ensuring performance, efficiency (PUE) and lifecycle optimisation.
• Influence early‑stage cooling design, chiller selection and system architecture before RFP issuance.
• Own technical pricing strategy, develop bids, create cost models and drive value engineering.
• Partner with Strategic Account Managers on major pursuits, delivering technical and commercial value propositions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years experience in HVAC/chiller systems and thermal plant solutions, preferably in data centres.
• Proven experience in technical sales, bid management and pricing of complex engineered solutions.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical solutions into commercial value.
• Self‑driven, resilient and effective in large, complex pursuit environments.

Required skills

• Chilled water systems and central plant design.
• Chiller selection and optimisation (air‑cooled, water‑cooled).
• Cooling strategies for high‑density environments, including liquid cooling.
• Cost modelling, value engineering and margin management.
• BMS/controls integration for thermal optimisation.
• CRM and pipeline management (Salesforce preferred).
