About the role
The Northern Beaches Council is seeking a Team Leader for Gardens to oversee the maintenance and development of open‑space reserves, sports fields, and vegetated assets across the region. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to lead a dedicated team in delivering high‑quality, sustainable green spaces for the community.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and supervise staff and contractors responsible for garden, reserve, and sports‑field maintenance.
- Ensure all assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and to approved service levels.
- Manage high‑volume workloads, balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Coordinate with other Parks & Open Space functions such as tree management and asset planning.
- Monitor performance, conduct inspections, and report on service delivery.
Required profile
- Proven people‑leadership experience in an open‑space or parks environment.
- Strong background in maintaining gardens, reserves, or similar vegetated assets.
- Ability to motivate a diverse team and manage contractors.
- Commitment to community service and environmental sustainability.
