Team Leader - Client Services & Support

About the role

A globally recognised wealth management business is looking for a Team Leader to lead its Client Services and Business Support teams in Sydney. The role centres on people leadership: establishing credibility with experienced stakeholders, giving clear direction and managing competing priorities. It starts by leading the Business Support team, then progressively takes responsibility for the Client Service Management team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Client Service Management and Business Support teams.
• Act as an escalation point for complex operational, client servicing and business matters.
• Manage workloads, resourcing, leave coverage and competing priorities across the teams.
• Support day-to-day business support activity when needed to keep service running.
• Build strong relationships with Financial Advisers and key stakeholders.
• Develop technical capability, support career development and succession planning.
• Oversee strategic initiatives, projects, change programs and process improvements.
• Maintain oversight of risk, controls and governance.

Required profile

• At least 5 years' experience in people leadership and team management.
• Experience preferred leading client service teams in wealth; operational or business support leadership in financial services will also be considered.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence and push back constructively.
• Strong operational, risk and governance awareness.
• Strategic mindset, strong judgement, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Project management, transformation or process improvement experience is advantageous.

What we offer

• Day rate of $500-550 plus superannuation for an initial 12-month temporary contract, very likely to extend.
• 5 days in the office for the first 3 months to support training, then 1 day from home per week.
• Responsibility across two teams supporting the Australian Wealth Management operation.
• Exposure to senior stakeholders, Financial Advisers and strategic business initiatives.
