Team Lead Systems Engineer - Windows & O365

About the role

Insignia Financial, a financial wellbeing organisation, has created a new opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer with strong Windows and Microsoft 365 expertise. The role combines technical leadership with people leadership: leading a team of up to 10 engineers and contractors, coaching and mentoring them while staying hands-on across Windows and O365 environments. It suits someone who enjoys leading people but also wants to stay connected to the technical challenges of a modern enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Infrastructure Engineers to build a high-performing, engaged culture
• Oversee ServiceNow queues, ticket management, escalations and SLA performance
• Drive operational excellence across Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environments
• Manage vulnerability remediation, alert monitoring and platform health activities
• Support Active Directory, Exchange, Entra ID and core infrastructure services
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, planning and technical solution design
• Manage the team's on-call capability and support coverage

Required profile

• Strong experience supporting enterprise Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environments
• Experience leading, mentoring or developing technical teams
• Experience in service delivery, including incident, ticket and SLA management
• Stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills
• A collaborative leadership style and the ability to balance technical delivery, operations and people leadership

Required skills

• Active Directory, Exchange and Entra ID
• Windows Server and Microsoft 365 administration
