Teacher of Work Health & Safety

About the role

TAFE NSW is seeking educators to teach Work Health and Safety (WHS) and shape the next generation of WHS professionals. The role applies current, industry-aligned knowledge to design and deliver engaging learning experiences that reflect contemporary safety practices and legislative requirements, across face-to-face classrooms, workplace and field-based contexts and online.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver WHS training to students building practical skills and nationally recognised qualifications
• Teach across face-to-face, workplace and online environments
• Develop safety-focused thinking and professional standards in learners
• Maintain industry currency, VET knowledge and trainer/assessor competence

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent tertiary qualification in a related discipline
• Experience in a WHS position, or substantial current knowledge of WHS legislation, systems, risk management and compliance
• Minimum three years of post-qualification industry experience within five years
• Evidence of the teaching qualification required to deliver VET

What we offer

• Salary package of $111,798 - $132,585, including base salary ($98,499 - $116,813), employer superannuation contribution and annual leave loading
