Teacher for Students at Educational Risk (Fixed-Term)

About the role

This 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time position is for a motivated educator who will deliver small‑group tuition focused on literacy and numeracy to students identified as being at educational risk. The role is based at Carnarvon Community College in Western Australia and aims to improve outcomes for learners through engaging, technology‑enhanced lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver authentic, small‑group learning tasks that develop literacy and numeracy skills.
• Set and monitor individual learning goals with students, providing targeted feedback.
• Incorporate current and emerging technologies to support differentiated instruction.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to develop cohesive curricula and share best practices.
• Support students’ social and emotional wellbeing, applying trauma‑informed approaches where appropriate.

Required profile

• Passion for teaching students at risk and ability to build strong relationships.
• Commitment to high‑quality classroom practice and continuous improvement.
• Understanding of trauma‑informed practice and student wellbeing is preferred.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a supportive school environment.
