Tax Manager

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its Australian team. Reporting to the Head of Tax and working closely with the UK‑based Group Tax team, you will act as a subject‑matter expert, delivering technical advice and compliance support across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain robust tax risk management and governance in partnership with the Australian Head of Tax.
• Provide commercially focused advice on corporate income tax, individual and employment tax, concessions, FBT and GST.
• Oversee tax reporting and compliance, including tax return preparation and ATO review support.
• Drive process improvement and increase use of tax technology, such as generative AI tools and robotic process automation.
• Support, guide and train tax team members and broader business stakeholders.
• Monitor legislative changes and communicate impacts to the business.
• Participate in ad‑hoc Group Tax projects.

Required profile

• Degree qualification with a completed CA, CPA or equivalent.
• Extensive tax experience in a large corporate environment or tax consulting practice.
• Broad finance and commercial exposure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for varied organisational levels.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for defence security clearance.
