Tax Analyst

About the role

CVS Vets Australia is looking for a part‑qualified Tax Analyst to join its in‑house tax team. This position offers exposure to UK and Australian corporate tax, VAT/GST, and employment tax, supporting both routine compliance and strategic projects such as acquisitions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare UK and Australian corporation tax returns for ~50 group entities, including capital allowances claims.
• Calculate quarterly instalment taxes, group relief, and manage Group Payment Arrangement allocations.
• Prepare VAT/GST returns for the group and handle EC Sales returns.
• Assist with PAYE Settlement Agreements and Australian equivalents.
• Analyse tax data, reconcile tax figures with financial reporting, and maintain tax models and trackers.
• Support the Tax Manager and Head of Tax on projects such as RDEC claims, M&A due diligence, and legislative impact analysis.
• Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors, managing compliance engagements and audit responses.
• Provide tax guidance to business units, deliver training, and drive continuous improvement of tax processes.

Required profile

• Part CTA/ATT qualified or equivalent.
• Previous experience in corporate tax and/or VAT compliance.
• Strong Excel proficiency and ability to work with large data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
