Tax Accountant

About the role

This full‑time Tax Accountant position is based at our Wangara head office and offers a hybrid work model with one day per week remote. You will work hands‑on across multiple subsidiaries, supporting tax compliance, advisory, and process‑improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge income tax returns for the group.
• Support fringe benefits tax (FBT) compliance and related reporting.
• Prepare, review and reconcile monthly BAS/GST obligations.
• Assist with tax effect accounting, calculations and reporting.
• Liaise with the ATO, external advisers, auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Respond to ATO queries, reviews and information requests.
• Provide tax compliance support for Australian and international entities.
• Identify and implement improvements to tax processes, controls and reporting.
• Support tax‑related queries on commercial transactions and M&A due‑diligence.

Required profile

• Proactive, reliable and comfortable working in a detail‑oriented environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• CA/CPA qualification or progress towards one is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Australian tax compliance experience (income tax, GST/BAS, FBT).
• Knowledge of tax effect accounting and tax calculations.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder liaison.
