Talent Acquisition Specialist – Mechanical Trades

About the role

We are seeking a driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead and expand Brunel’s Mechanical Trades desk in Western Australia. The role focuses on end‑to‑end recruitment of blue‑collar and mechanical trades professionals for mining, energy and related sectors, delivering a high‑quality candidate experience while supporting client workforce needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from brief to placement for mechanical trades roles.
• Source and engage candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, SEEK Talent Search, internal databases and networking.
• Conduct interviews, assess technical capability and cultural fit.
• Build and maintain talent pipelines across key industries.
• Partner with clients and hiring managers to understand requirements and provide recruitment advice.
• Prepare candidate profiles, coordinate interviews, negotiate offers and oversee onboarding.
• Maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System and produce regular pipeline and hiring reports.
• Represent Brunel at networking events, industry functions and career expos.

Required profile

• Previous experience in agency recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably within mining, energy or resources.
• Demonstrated success recruiting skilled mechanical trades.
• Ability to manage multiple vacancies in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
• Proactive, resilient and solutions‑focused approach.
