Talent Acquisition Officer

About the role

The Talent Acquisition Officer will support NT public schools in attracting and recruiting a high‑quality workforce, ensuring students have access to quality education. Two positions are available – one ongoing (permanent) and one fixed‑term from 20 August 2026 to 6 September 2027 – with placement in either Alice Springs or Darwin, subject to negotiation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute recruitment strategies for public schools across the Northern Territory.
• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes, including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and onboarding.
• Liaise with school leaders and senior managers to understand staffing needs and workforce planning.
• Ensure compliance with government recruitment policies and maintain accurate recruitment data.
• Provide regular reporting on recruitment metrics and workforce trends.

Required profile

• Administrative Officer Level 5 experience within the public sector.
• Demonstrated knowledge of recruitment best practices and education‑sector staffing.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple recruitment cycles simultaneously.
