About the role
Carma is a fast‑growing digital pre‑owned car dealership reshaping the Australian automotive market. As the Talent Acquisition Lead – Operations you will own end‑to‑end recruitment for Carma’s high‑pace operational workforce, partnering with production and logistics leaders to build talent pipelines and scale hiring quickly.
Key responsibilities
- Lead recruitment for frontline, skilled‑trades and operational roles, translating workforce plans into hiring campaigns.
- Design and execute sourcing strategies using job boards, agencies, referrals and non‑traditional channels.
- Own high‑volume hiring bursts when operational demand spikes, ensuring critical vacancies are filled promptly.
- Personally recruit hard‑to‑fill technical and specialist positions across automotive, production, logistics and operations.
- Coach and manage the Talent Acquisition team, setting priorities, removing roadblocks and driving accountability for candidate experience and quality of hire.
- Use recruitment data (time‑to‑fill, source effectiveness, offer acceptance) to identify bottlenecks and improve outcomes.
- Introduce technology, automation and AI to streamline recruitment processes and enhance data‑driven decision‑making.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, providing market insight and shaping employer branding for skilled talent.
Required profile
- Proven full‑cycle recruitment experience in fast‑paced, complex environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and set direction for a Talent Acquisition team.
- Track record of high‑volume hiring and targeted sourcing for difficult‑to‑fill technical and frontline roles.
- Strong understanding of skilled‑trades and operational talent markets.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills with influence at senior levels.
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Continuous‑improvement mindset and comfort working in ambiguous, high‑growth settings.
- Tech‑savvy with passion for adopting new recruitment tools and systems.
