Systems & Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

Raytheon Australia is seeking a Systems & Cyber Security Specialist to support the delivery of security outcomes across complex defence systems. The role involves providing expert advice, leading risk assessments, and responding to security incidents in a fast‑paced, hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to security risk assessments and business impact analyses, applying threat and vulnerability knowledge.
• Support and, where required, lead the full incident lifecycle – investigation, impact assessment, response coordination, and post‑incident improvement.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve security policies, standards and procedures to maintain audit readiness.
• Define, review and manage security and technical requirements for projects, ensuring traceability and effective change control in Agile and predictive delivery settings.
• Provide specialist cyber security advice to stakeholders, delivering clear, risk‑based recommendations.
• Analyse security events and operational metrics to identify trends, root causes and actionable improvements.
• Depending on seniority, offer technical leadership, coaching and mentorship to other security specialists.

Required profile

• University degree in Cyber Security, Information Systems Security, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in systems security, risk assessment, incident response or digital forensics.
