Systems Administrator – 6‑month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking a Systems Administrator on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract to support critical infrastructure projects. You will work across on‑premises, cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring reliable and secure technology services.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure, test and deploy infrastructure solutions on Windows, Unix, Linux, virtualised and cloud platforms.
• Support major initiatives such as migrations, upgrades, cloud adoption and platform modernisation.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, cybersecurity specialists, vendors and operational teams to deliver secure, resilient solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardisation and best‑practice processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering supporting enterprise environments.
• Strong focus on security, reliability and the ability to work collaboratively across project and operational teams.
• Australian citizenship and NV‑1 security clearance.

Required skills

• Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems – provisioning, configuration, patching and lifecycle management.
• Core services: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, networking, storage, authentication, monitoring, backup and performance management.
• Virtualisation technologies: VMware and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• Infrastructure security, system hardening, vulnerability remediation and compliance.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (experience preferred).
• Automation and scripting: PowerShell, Shell scripting, Python, Ansible.
