System Engineer – Windows (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking a Systems Engineer – Windows to deliver critical Windows infrastructure projects that support stability, security and modernisation of enterprise technology environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, configure, test and deploy Windows Server solutions across on‑premises, hybrid and cloud environments.
• Lead upgrades, platform modernisation, Active Directory enhancements, application migrations and data‑centre transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, cybersecurity specialists and vendors to deliver secure, well‑documented solutions.
• Drive automation and scripting to improve operational efficiency and reliability.

Required profile

• Experience as a Windows Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer supporting enterprise‑scale environments.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, identify technical risks and work with diverse technical and business stakeholders.

Required skills

• Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 (and newer) platforms.
• Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, file services.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Virtualisation (VMware and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V).
• TCP/IP networking, backup/recovery, performance troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Azure services (VMs, networking, storage, identity) and hybrid identity (Microsoft Entra ID).
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Azure Automation or Bicep.
