System Administrator – Virtual Data Centre

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking a Virtual Data Centre Systems Administrator to support mission‑critical programs in the Geospatial domain. Based on‑site in Canberra, you will ensure the performance, reliability and security of complex virtualised environments that underpin national capability outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server environments, ensuring availability of critical systems, databases and applications.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support, investigating and resolving complex infrastructure issues across virtualised platforms.
• Monitor, diagnose and remediate system incidents, proactively addressing problems before they affect operations.
• Collaborate with customers, network administrators and multidisciplinary technical teams to deliver reliable services.

Required profile

• Experienced systems administrator comfortable working in highly secure, mission‑focused environments.
• Collaborative approach with a commitment to service excellence and effective stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while balancing operational priorities.

Required skills

• Linux (RHEL) administration
• Windows Server administration
• Virtualisation technologies such as VMware vSphere and App‑V
• Scripting/automation with PowerShell and/or Python
• Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) packaging
