System Administrator

About the role

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is looking for a System Administrator to keep its people systems running smoothly across Victoria's justice system. The role sits within Enterprise Technology Services, an internal technology group that plans, delivers and maintains the technology supporting the department's day-to-day operations. It is an ongoing, full-time position based in Melbourne (CBD and inner metro suburbs).

Key responsibilities

• Manage and improve key people systems so they stay reliable, accurate and easy to use.
• Manage system changes to improve how applications work and protect data.
• Work with system users and suppliers to identify needs and plan improvements.
• Keep clear records of system settings, changes and work steps.
• Plan and run user testing after system updates and new features.
• Check data, prepare reports and find ways to improve system quality.

Required profile

• A relevant tertiary qualification is desired but not essential.
• Hands-on experience with the Chris21 system.
• Ability to adapt to change, manage tasks and solve problems.
• Team-focused approach and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.

Required skills

• Strong technical skills to support large systems and solve complex problems.
• Knowledge of system testing and the steps needed for new software releases.

What we offer

• Ongoing, full-time role earning $100,894 to $114,476 per year, plus superannuation.
