System Administrator

About the role

Boeing Australia is looking for an experienced System Administrator to join its IT team in Port Melbourne. The role focuses on providing network and system administration support for both corporate IT infrastructure and factory systems. The position requires shift coverage until 10 pm, Monday to Friday, and occasional on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver network support and configuration (approximately 60% of time) and manage factory system environments (40%).
• Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
• Validate end‑to‑end system functionality through unit and integration testing.
• Provide problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems.
• Administer user access and enforce security requirements.
• Monitor system performance, capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery.
• Participate in change boards, perform risk assessments, and implement system changes across complex server environments.
• Promote security awareness and conduct system health reporting.
• Build and maintain relationships with IT and business stakeholders through face‑to‑face collaboration.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of network management experience with Cisco or Arista platforms.
• Minimum 2 years of Microsoft Windows Server administration experience.
• Australian citizenship to meet Defence security requirements and ability to obtain NV1 clearance.
• Strong logical problem‑solving abilities and high level of customer service.
• Ability to work shift hours until 10 pm and be available for on‑call duties.
