Sustainable Food Waste Lead – IFMS (Balcatta)

About the role

The IFMS Sustainable Food Waste Lead will drive a comprehensive food waste reduction programme across multiple Sodexo sites, ensuring measurable environmental impact and cost savings. Reporting to the IFMS Transformation Director, the role blends data‑driven analysis with hands‑on operational improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day food waste operations across all assigned client sites, meeting budget and contractual targets.
• Educate and engage site teams on the environmental impact of food waste and accurate measurement techniques.
• Improve data accuracy and reporting using Leanpath, establishing baseline assessments and tracking maturity.
• Implement operational improvements such as production planning, portion control, stock management and end‑of‑service practices.
• Standardise food‑waste tracking tools, develop operational guidelines and share best practices across sites.
• Create dashboards, conduct regular performance reviews and design incentive mechanisms for high‑performing teams.
• Collaborate with Rio Tinto governance, contribute to IFM V2 cost‑saving targets and conduct site audits to ensure service excellence.

Required profile

• Passion for reducing food waste and proven experience in food‑waste or sustainability programmes.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Experience managing multi‑site operations and driving behavioural change.
• Excellent communication skills for training and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to conduct site inspections, audits and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
