Superintendent - Iron Bridge

About the role

Bureau Veritas Metals & Minerals is looking for an experienced Onsite Laboratory Manager (Superintendent) to join its Onsite Laboratory team at the Iron Bridge site in Perth. The role manages the day-to-day operation of the onsite laboratory, performs analytical work and ensures safe, profitable operation while meeting client service requirements. The roster is 8/6 day shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Run the onsite laboratory safely and efficiently every day, complying with onsite, Bureau Veritas and government occupational health and safety requirements.
• Run the Fusion/XRF/Reporting facility so that quality data and assay turnaround meet client requirements.
• Manage staff and their training.
• Perform analytical tasks, operate instrumentation and carry out QA/QC and troubleshooting.
• Liaise with clients and answer their queries.
• Control and dispose of hazardous substances and manage instrument and equipment maintenance.
• Manage stock levels and consumables.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in XRF analysis and equipment calibration and maintenance.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Understanding of OHSE requirements and compliance, Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor compliant.
• Radiation license.

Desirable

• Knowledge of the company's activities.
• Sample preparation experience in a supervisory role.
• Full understanding of XRF procedures and processes.
• Onsite mine laboratory experience.
• First aid certificate.
