About the role
MMG is offering a 12‑week Summer Vacation Program at the Dugald River zinc mine in North‑West Queensland. The program provides undergraduate students with hands‑on experience across a range of engineering and geology disciplines while supporting the mine’s low‑carbon transition.
Key responsibilities
- Assist engineering and geology teams with data collection and analysis on‑site.
- Participate in routine inspections, safety checks, and project meetings.
- Support the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
- Contribute to process‑control and mechanical engineering tasks under supervision.
- Engage in site visits to understand mining operations and renewable energy initiatives.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology, Geotechnical/Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Process Control Engineering.
- Willingness to work on a FIFO or BIBO roster (8/6) and relocate to the mine site for the program duration.
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work in a team‑oriented environment.
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the program period.
