Structural/Mechanical Designer – NPI Projects

About the role

The NPI Designer (Structural/Mechanical) will work on‑site in Perth, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop structural and mechanical concepts for non‑process infrastructure projects. You will produce detailed design documentation, support cost planning, and ensure designs meet safety, compliance and constructability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review technical drawings and 3D models for NPI facilities.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to clarify requirements.
• Support 3D model‑driven and modular design workflows.
• Participate in design reviews and resolve technical issues.
• Assist in early scope development and provide input for tender packages.
• Maintain design quality, alignment with project budgets and schedules.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Mechanical or Structural Engineering applied to facilities such as fuel, lube, workshop structures, etc.
• Experience with master‑planning and swept‑path analysis.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Australian standards, safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate design intent clearly.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
• Accountability for design outputs.
