Strategic Change Oversight Manager

About the role

Organisational change is a major source of non‑financial risk for ANZ. The Strategic Change Oversight team provides independent oversight of the bank’s most strategically material programmes, helping to detect, manage and remediate risk throughout the change lifecycle. The Manager, Strategic Change Oversight supports the Senior Manager by delivering second‑line risk analysis, governance insight and risk‑based challenge.

Key responsibilities

• Provide second‑line risk oversight across design, build and implementation phases using a risk‑based, proportionate approach.
• Assess material operational, compliance, technology, conduct and delivery risks linked to strategic programmes.
• Evaluate the adequacy and sustainability of governance, risk management and control arrangements.
• Deliver evidence‑based challenge to first‑line leadership on risk decisions and trade‑offs.
• Escalate concerns when risk exposures increase or remediation is insufficient.
• Prepare clear Line‑2 risk insights for steering committees and executive forums.

Required profile

• Experience in second‑line risk oversight or risk assurance for complex change initiatives within a regulated financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end operational risk management, including identification, assessment, escalation and governance.
• Ability to assess and articulate material risks with sound judgement and a proportionate approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing executive‑ready risk insights.
