Strategic Business Development Manager – Resources & Infrastructure

About the role

The Strategic Business Development Manager will act as a commercial connector across HI Fraser Group, collaborating with business unit leaders, commercial teams and the executive team to identify, qualify and develop new opportunities in the resources and infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new customers, markets and strategic growth opportunities across resources and infrastructure.
• Build trusted relationships with senior decision‑makers, industry stakeholders, suppliers and strategic partners.
• Connect customers with relevant capabilities across the HI Fraser Group portfolio and develop cross‑business opportunities.
• Gather and share customer, competitor and industry intelligence, and assess new products, suppliers and partnerships.
• Represent HI Fraser Group at industry conferences, exhibitions and networking events.

Required profile

• Proven success in identifying and securing new business opportunities within mining, oil & gas, infrastructure or related industrial markets.
• Strong ability to engage senior decision‑makers and navigate complex organisations.
• Commercial acumen with the capability to assess the value and viability of opportunities.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of resources, infrastructure or broader industrial markets.
• Understanding of major customers, contractors and supply chains.
