Storage Architect – Unstructured Data, AI & Analytics

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an experienced Storage Architect with deep expertise in unstructured data, AI and analytics workloads. This remote, customer‑facing position influences solution design, adoption and product strategy for enterprise‑scale file and object storage.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with customers to design scalable file and S3 object storage solutions for AI, analytics and enterprise workloads.
• Size storage environments based on capacity, throughput, latency, network bandwidth, growth and availability requirements.
• Lead technical workshops, assessments, benchmarks and hands‑on proofs of concept (POCs).
• Translate customer requirements into product feedback and roadmap recommendations.
• Support strategic presales engagements, RFIs/RFPs, solution sizing and technical justification.

Required profile

• 7+ years designing, implementing or supporting enterprise storage and data architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong customer‑facing architecture, consulting or presales experience.
• Willingness and ability to travel for customer engagements.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of S3 object storage (buckets, APIs, authentication, data protection).
• Working knowledge of enterprise file protocols, especially NFS and SMB.
• Experience with AI inference, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, data lakes/Lakehouses and large‑scale analytics pipelines.
• Familiarity with enterprise storage platforms such as Dell PowerScale/ObjectScale, Pure Storage FlashBlade, NetApp ONTAP/StorageGRID, VAST Data, Scality or other S3‑compatible solutions.
• Understanding of cloud storage services on AWS, Azure and GCP and hybrid/multi‑cloud data architectures.
