Staff Specialist / Senior Staff Specialist - ENT

About the role

Mackay Hospital and Health Service (part of Queensland Health) is recruiting a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist for its ENT team within the General Surgery Department. The role assists in delivering high-quality Ear, Nose and Throat services to patients and supports the Clinical Director of Surgery in developing and maintaining an effective, efficient and equitable ENT service at Mackay Base Hospital, covering outpatients, inpatients, elective and emergency surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide and ensure high-quality clinical services to patients requiring ENT surgical care; a sub-specialty interest in Head and Neck Surgery is highly desirable.
• Take part in the on-call roster for the care of ENT patients as required.
• Take part in the HHS Integrated Risk Management and Safety programme, including the Incident Monitoring System and Root Cause Analysis where appropriate.
• Join committees related to clinical responsibility and future planning as required.

Required profile

• Full-time position based in Mackay, Queensland.
