Staff Software Engineer – Native Mobile (iOS/Android)

About the role

CommBank is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of its native mobile applications for iOS and Android. You will join Australia’s largest native mobile team, building products used by millions of customers every day, and help shape the technical direction of the bank’s mobile strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing and release of high‑quality native mobile features.
• Define and maintain technical roadmaps and promote continuous improvement across the squad.
• Collaborate with product owners, other technical leaders and cross‑functional teams to document changes and drive initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship and code reviews for engineers on the team.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery, from solution design through production rollout.

Required profile

• Full‑cycle engineering experience covering ideation, design, build, testing, release and maintenance.
• Ability to work independently while championing quality, excellence and openness.
• Passion for creating modern, user‑centric mobile experiences.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and willingness to think outside the box.
