Staff Software Engineer – Mobile Android

About the role

Bankwest is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to shape its Android banking applications. You will lead design, set engineering standards and own the full delivery lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring secure, high‑performance mobile experiences for millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, secure Android architectures using Kotlin and native frameworks.
• Lead technical and architectural decisions across the Application and Opening Chapter.
• Mentor and up‑skill engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with product, design and platform teams to align technical strategy with customer outcomes.
• Drive best‑practice adoption, automation and cloud‑native approaches to accelerate delivery.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery, including release, monitoring and ongoing optimisation.

Required profile

• Proven strategic and architectural leadership in Android development.
• Deep experience delivering end‑to‑end Android solutions at scale.
• Strong ability to influence design decisions and mentor cross‑functional teams.
• Passion for building secure, high‑performance banking experiences.
