Staff Software Engineer

About the role
ANZ is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join its Internal Developer Platforms team. You will help shape the next‑generation developer platform that enables engineers across the bank to build, release and operate software safely, efficiently and at scale.
Key responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical direction for major platform initiatives.
- Design and ensure implementation of scalable, reliable and compliant services that meet business requirements.
- Identify, document and mitigate technical risks in designs and implementations.
- Promote and uphold engineering standards and best practices across teams.
- Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders to align platform strategy with engineering and business priorities.
Required profile
- Extensive experience delivering complex, high‑scale applications and services.
- Strong technical leadership with the ability to guide architecture and influence across team boundaries.
- Proven track record of establishing and maintaining engineering standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
