About the role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer with full‑stack expertise to lead a high‑performing team building the home insurance platform. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery of features, from intuitive front‑end experiences to robust back‑end services, supporting millions of Australian users.

Key responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers in designing and implementing full‑stack solutions for home insurance.
Collaborate with Product Owner and Tech Lead to shape product direction and priorities.
Own the complete engineering lifecycle, from concept through production, using .Net Core, React, Angular, AWS and containerisation.
Mentor and inspire engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, quality and continuous improvement.
Drive technical discussions, stakeholder engagement and proof‑of‑concept initiatives.

Required profile

Hands‑on technology leader who enjoys solving complex problems.
Strong mentor and people‑leader, building engaged engineering communities.
Deep experience across the full software development lifecycle, embracing Agile and DevSecOps practices.
Confident in solution design, stakeholder communication and leading technical conversations.
Committed to continuous learning, experimentation and applying industry best practices.

Required skills

.NET/.NET Core.NET Framework, MVC, REST APIs, microservices, Kafka.
C# (OOP, design patterns).
Frontend: Angular, React, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, Next.js.
CI/CD: Git, TeamCity/Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Octopus.
Containerisation: Docker.
Monitoring & logging: Observe, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk.
Databases: MSSQL, Oracle, MongoDB.
Cloud: AWS.
