Staff C++ Build & Release Engineer

About the role

Shield AI is building intelligent autonomy and vision systems for defence. This role sits at the heart of the software factory, ensuring C++ code is built, packaged and delivered reliably to edge‑deployed, often isolated, platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end C++ build and release workflows from source to deployable artefacts.
• Develop and maintain containerised CI/CD pipelines for isolated environments, focusing on speed, determinism and repeatability.
• Manage JFrog/Artifactory repositories, improving versioning, retention and promotion practices.
• Strengthen dependency hygiene and reproducibility to eliminate “works on my machine” issues.
• Validate and deploy autonomy and vision‑system products, ensuring reliability on edge hardware.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience delivering modern C++ software in production.
• Ownership of build systems and dependency management tools such as Conan, CMake, Nix, Ninja, Artifactory.
• Recent experience running CI/CD pipelines for compiled software, including container workflows (Docker/Podman).
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and debugging in constrained environments.
• Background with air‑gapped or isolated DevOps contexts and supporting Python tooling.
