Specialist Training – Prominent Hill Mine (FIFO)

About the role

The Specialist Training role supports frontline leaders and on‑the‑job trainers at BHP’s Prominent Hill mine. Based on a 5/2, 4/3 FIFO roster, the role ensures training compliance, builds capability and delivers high‑quality learning solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver face‑to‑face, competency‑based training programs that promote safe and productive operations.
• Partner with operational leaders, supervisors and crew trainers to meet training requirements and improve training quality.
• Coach and support workplace trainers and leaders in effective training delivery and assessment.
• Act as the site Learning Management System (LMS) subject‑matter expert, providing guidance on SAP SuccessFactors usage.
• Maintain robust governance of training records, assessments, competencies and learning data.
• Monitor training compliance, identify capability gaps and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and continuously improve training materials and assessment tools using adult learning principles.
• Evaluate learning effectiveness and support transfer of learning through coaching and observation.

Required profile

• Strong experience in delivering workplace training and competency‑based learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively with operational teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
