Specialist Technician – ICT Support for Schools

About the role

Bytewize is looking for experienced Systems Engineers / Specialist Technicians to deliver technical support to Victorian schools through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP). This senior‑level position involves managing complex ICT environments, supporting staff and students, and contributing to professional development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools.
• Administer and support school networks, server environments and cloud services.
• Provide ICT support in large, technology‑driven learning environments.
• Collaborate with school leadership teams and deliver ICT professional development when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior‑level IT experience in education or comparable corporate environments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem‑solving, escalation and communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (citizen, PR or permanent visa), a current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to undergo police and background checks.

What we offer

• Salary range AUD 90,000 – 110,000 (pro‑rated) with top rates based on skills and experience.
