Specialist Accountant

About the role

Golding is seeking a Specialist Accountant to join its Finance team in Brisbane. The role supports mining operations and acts as a finance business partner, providing financial insights and commercial guidance in a fast‑paced, project‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Specialist Accountants and the Finance Manager to deliver accurate month‑end reporting packs.
• Partner with Mining General Managers, Project Managers and Maintenance Managers to prepare month‑end financials and variance commentary.
• Assist Project Managers with monthly revenue and cost re‑forecasts, budgets and ad‑hoc reporting.
• Provide financial and commercial support to project leadership, including advice on contractual arrangements and variance analysis.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process for mining projects and identify business improvement initiatives.
• Coach project leaders to improve accounting, commercial and administrative consistency.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline with CPA or CA qualification.
• Management accounting experience in a project‑based business.
• Proven forecasting and financial modelling capability.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
