Sous Chef - Yacht Club Kitchen

About the role

The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, one of Sydney's largest yacht clubs and a community in Newport on the Northern Beaches, is looking for a dynamic and innovative Sous Chef. The role works hand-in-hand with the Head Chef to lead the kitchen unit, mentoring and developing the team while sharing administrative duties and creating modern, varied menus.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Head Chef to lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team with a hands-on approach.
• Plan and create contemporary menus.
• Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.
• Oversee administrative duties such as rosters and ordering.
• Show strong work ethic, self-motivation and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate commercial and financial acumen in kitchen activities.
• Work a varied roster, including weekdays and weekends.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
• Proven ability to lead, inspire and develop a high-performing kitchen team.
• Creative flair for designing modern, varied menus.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Administrative experience in kitchen management (rosters, ordering) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of WHS and hygiene practices.
• Preferably a local resident of the Northern Beaches.
