Sous Chef - New Venue - Bayswater

About the role

A brand-new hospitality and entertainment venue in Bayswater is opening soon, and INAC Hospitality is recruiting an experienced Sous Chef to join the opening team. The venue is backed by an established, growing hospitality group, and the food offering is fresh, approachable and family-focused, with burgers, parmas, pizzas, share plates and casual dining dishes. The role is a hands-on leadership position, second-in-command to the Head Chef, with availability across weekends and key trading periods.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef through the venue opening and ongoing operations
• Assist with training, developing and supervising the back-of-house team
• Help establish kitchen systems, procedures and service standards
• Lead preparation and service during busy trading periods
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control
• Assist with ordering, stock control, food costs and wastage
• Maintain high food safety, cleanliness and compliance standards
• Take responsibility for the kitchen when the Head Chef is away
• Build a positive, accountable kitchen culture and work with the venue leadership team

Required profile

• Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef experience in a busy restaurant, pub, club or large-format venue
• Strong hands-on cooking skills and confidence leading a team
• Experience in a high-volume kitchen
• Understanding of food costs, stock control and kitchen compliance
• Practical, organised and reliable approach, with a passion for consistent, quality food
• Ability to stay calm and take the lead during busy services, with a team-first attitude
